Flag football is one of the fastest-growing girls sports in Louisiana, and the athletes playing it deserve preparation built for the game they actually play - not a watered-down version of a tackle program.
Schedule your assessmentFlag is a game of separation and pursuit. Nearly every meaningful play comes down to who can accelerate first, who can sink their hips and cut without drifting, and who can still do both in the fourth quarter. Our girls flag football program is built around exactly those qualities.
Because the sport is new to many schools, a lot of athletes arrive without a training background. That is fine, and it is why we start with an assessment instead of a workout. We find out how you move, address anything that hurts, and build from there.
We look at how you move before we ask you to move faster. Knees, hips and ankles get particular attention.
The first three steps decide most flag plays. We train them deliberately.
Sharp, repeatable cuts that hold up under fatigue - and land safely, which matters enormously for young female athletes.
Footwork and body control for creating separation and avoiding the pull.
Repeated short sprints with incomplete recovery, which is what the sport actually demands.
Confidence, discipline and life skills, from athletes to athletes.
Movement quality, coordination and confidence. We build athletes before we build numbers.
Position-specific development, film study and honest guidance on what the next level asks for.
Programming that fits around a college calendar and a strength staff you already answer to.
Individual preparation, return-to-play work and off-season blocks built around your contract year.
Programming is built around the athlete and her position, and flag has its own demands. Athletes train in their level group - youth or high school - with work specific to the flag game.
Not at all. Most flag athletes are new to structured training because the sport itself is new here. The assessment tells us where to begin, and the youth and high school programs are built to bring athletes along safely.
A large share of non-contact knee injuries in female athletes come from how the athlete decelerates and lands. Teaching those mechanics deliberately is a core part of the program, not an add-on.
Youth athletes from age 7 through 12, and high school athletes. Collegiate and pro tracks are available as flag continues to grow.
Every DPT athlete starts with a comprehensive pain and performance assessment. Tell us about your sport, your level and your goals, and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
